Certification and Licensing Requirements for Wyoming Accountants

Any accountant who files with the Securities and Exchange Commission must earn the designation of Certified Public Accountant (CPA). The Wyoming Board of Public Accountants lays out several requirements for those seeking initial CPA licensure in the state, including:

  1. Earning at least a bachelor's degree from an accredited school. Education must include 150 total credits, along with a concentration in business and accounting.
  2. Passing the Uniform CPA Exam.
  3. Gaining one year of professional experience in public accounting.
  4. Completing a professional ethics course.
